Description: Abraham Polhemus house. Also called the Rapelye house and the Polhemus stone house. Later the location became part of the Astoria Gardens complex. Print is faded.; hand written on back of print: Polhemus farmhouse 18 Century, store white built by Jacob Rapelye on Boulevard cor Wolcott St Abraham Polhemus 1852 JA Suydam 1860 Polhemus 1873 eastside Boulevard south of Winthrop St Hellgate Neck burial place rear Richard Berrien bought in 1737 the land with a house on it + Jacob Rapelye, the next owner(born 1714) built the present house Aletta Rapelye daughter of Abraham Rapelye (born 1750) married Abraham Polhemus he later died in 1843 Long Island City March 1923
