Description: The collection essentially consists of the records created or used by the executors of the Rapelye estate in administering said estate, and to a large degree cover the years 1900-1901. We can also surmise that many of the earlier 19th century documents may have been used by them either in proving title to real estate property, or the like. If they were not specifically used by the executors, they were at any rate among the papers left behind by Mr. Rapelye and for this reason as well, they have all been designated as "estate papers”. Occasional documents bearing names other than Rapelye, are probably largely accounted for by family relationship.
