Description: Carol Lee Whiting has lived almost her entire life in Flushing, mostly in the large house in which she grew up. She fondly recalls the days when neighbors were close, shopping was local, and the area was country-like. This photo was taken on the day of her interview for the Queens Memory Project in Rosenthal Library on the campus of Queens College in Flushing.
