Description: Daniel Dromm recalls Jackson Heights' gay culture in the 1970's when he would visit bars like The Alley and enjoyed the sense of community he felt there in an era when bars were the only meeting places for gay people. Dromm later went on to organize several community groups in Queens that serve the gay community. He is currently a New York City Council Member serving a district that includes Jackson Heights.
