Description: The Degnon Terminal area of Long Island City was a major hub for industry and the railroad. Three major factories of the Degnon Terminal Area were the American Chicle Factory (which produced chewing gum and candy), the Ever Ready Factory (which produced flashlights and radio batteries), and the Loose-Wiles Sunshine Biscuits factory (which produced cookies, crackers, and other assorted treats).
