Description: This small collection consists of papers referring principally to the carriage making and repair business of the Denton family of Jamaica. More specifically, the business was run by Amos Denton (Jun 30, 1835-May 30, 1934) and his brother William L. Denton (Sep 15, 1821-1917). These dates have been obtained from several newspaper clippings in the Division's Vertical File, as well as, from notes concerning the Denton Genealogy. The collection also very briefly reflects on another Amos Denton, who was the father of the two aforementioned Dentons. For purposes of identification, this latter individual has been termed, Amos Denton, Sr.
