Description: Dolores describes her father's childhood and how he worked for U.S. General Douglas MacArthur (1880-1964), as a personal valet. After obtaining his U.S. citizenship, he became a merchant marine and came to NY for the opportunity to work at the Brooklyn Navy Yard. She remembers visiting the Brooklyn Navy Yard on Columbia Street (Brooklyn) with her father often.
