Description: Edsall House - SE corner of Catalpa Avenue and Fresh Pond Road (old address no. 915 Fresh Pond Road), as seen from Catalpa Ave. near 62nd St. Henry W. Meyer (owner of Ivanhoe Tobacco Co.) remodeled the house before completing his new house on 64th Street. During the second half of 19th Century the house and farm were leased out to tenants (E.G., Goodspeed, Harman Ring). The house became the Glendale Police Precinct in the early 1900's, housing the 85th, 285th, 116th and finally the 104th Precinct until the new police station was built in the late 1920's. [Note: In this photo tents are pitched on the property - not sure what for?]
