Esther Weinreb Clip 1: Automobiles Coming to Life
Collection: Queens Museum Oral History Project Records at the Archives at Queens Library: Esther Weinreb
Description: Esther Weinreb recalls the GM exhibit at the 1939 World's Fair. It was very exciting as her family never owned an automobile at the time. She used to play games on her Brooklyn street during the summertime with other children. They used to name the automobiles on the street that would pass by. There were Pontiacs, Buicks, Lincolns, and Cadillacs. She enjoyed watching automobiles come to life at the GM building the most out of all the exhibits at the World's Fair.
