Description: First responder, Odelmo Paltooram, took this photo while traveling in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Paltooram worked alongside National Guardsmen in the Rockaways in the days after the storm. The vehicle was helpful for getting around in the flooded areas that would be impossible for a civilian vehicle to cross. Some areas were covered in several feet of water.
