Description: Helene Schlesinger describes attending the 1939 New York World's Fair as a child. She recalls how the site of the fair used to be a garbage dump. She remembers the trains coming in from Kew Gardens, and how at the cash register there was a big marker indicating the number of people as they entered. She talks about the parachute jump, the Billy Rose Aquacade Swim Show, and the Charlie McCarthy Show.
