Description: John McGuirl shares his memories of the LIRR station that used to be in Rockaway Park. This station was once the last stop on the railroad. It was closed down due to a fire caused by a cigarette butt in the 1950s. John recalls being on the last train that ran to Ozone Park in 1962. He also voices his uncertainty about turning the old railroad into a park like the Highline in Manhattan because the area is much more remote than Manhattan.
