Description: Judge Garritt Furman House - (aka Way House) Located near what was between 56th and 55th Street north of Maspeth Ave., west of the LIRR tracks. James Way Settled early at English Kills died 1865; left the homestead to his nephew Samuel Way (d. 1798); went to his daughter Sarah M. Dr. Henry Mott 1784; Way Estate sold to Judge G. Furman 1815; was W.H. Furman 1852, 1873; Grussy 1891. Liquid Carbolic Plant with four stacks is to the left, the house was destroyed to build the New York Naval Shipyard Maspeth Annex.
