Lakshman Kalasapudi, Full Interview
Description: Lakshman Kalasapudi is an Indian-American LGBTQ member who was born in the Bronx and raised in Queens, NY. He and his family settled in Glen Oaks, which Lakshman says is a great place to raise children. In Glen Oaks, Mr. Kalasapudi says he didn’t feel much of a gay community present. However, when he was 17 years old, he learned of the South Asian Lesbian and Gay Association (SALGA) and attneded their suport group. He is still involved with this group and active alongside other gay activists such as political leader Danny Dromm. In the upcoming years, Kalasapudi hopes Queens stays the same in terms of social geography.
