Description: The Liberty Rock is a monument located between Liberty Avenue and Farmers Boulevard. It is a known landmark in St. Albans. It is located at the point where St. Albans, Hollis and Jamaica meet. According to area residents Cassia Campbell and Porscha Williams, the Liberty Rock was painted red, black and green, symbolic of the Black Power and Pan-African movements, in the late 1960s. Chess players sometimes gather in the area on warm days.
