Description: New Vanderveer House - Front (north) facade of the Vanderveer House, SW corner of Metropolitan Ave. and Trotting Course Lane (Woodhaven Blvd.). The row houses in right background appear to be on Doran Ave. Henry Suydam Vanderveer built the house in 1850 on the south side of Metropolitan Ave. near 70th Ave. The house was enlarged and remodeled in 1873, and was moved to this site in 1880. It was torn down about 1950. For many years this was the residence of Jeromus Vanderveer. Photo taken May 1923.
