Collection: Eugene Armbruster Drawings and Photographs
Description: Wyckoff House - House of Nicholas Wyckoff of Dry Harbor (not Nicholas Wyckoff of Bushwick). The house was built late 18th Century, the part on right added later for a hotel & manufacturing use. Located on the south side of Cooper Ave. between 74st St. & 75th St., the address became 74-02 through 74-10 Cooper Ave. It became the Glendale Hotel, and later in the 19th Century the Hillen's Hotel and Picnic Park, for many years after it was Doty's Tavern (Dorothy Hillen), until it was torn down in 1970 to erect brick houses. The NW corner of the building was cut off when the road was widened.
