Description: Queens Head Tavern - Long distance view of the former Queens Heads Tavern from the LIRR Tracks; the tavern was located at the intersection of Maspeth Ave., Maurice Ave., and Rust Street. The building was built by the Town of Newtown and leased out to tavern keepers, for a time this was also a stage house and a dwelling. It was used as headquarters for British Troops during the Revolutionary War. The building was torn down in 1938.
