Text addressed to Mrs. L Riepple, reads: My dear ma, I read your card and was very surprised at the information of Mrs. S having my sword - the idea! I tell you I did well keeping my koffer locked with the draht. My firm sent me all for the half month and did not deduct you the vacation they gave me. Hurrah! I am very sorry you are so sick and trust you will be yourself again in a few days and you have Betsey. Does Mrs. Siebel still wash for you or did you lay her off. With Love ...
