Description: Shavetta describes moving to New York from India as "not that much fun" because there were not as many social events and family and friends around. She found herself shopping often because she didn't have much else to do while her husband worked at their multiple businesses over the years. Working really changed her immigration experience in a positive way because it allowed her to become more independent and acquainted with the city.
