Thomas Holahan Clip 1: Religion at the World's Fair
Collection: Queens Museum Oral History Project Records at the Archives at Queens Library: Thomas Holahan
Description: Holahan, a Catholic priest, recalls having one-on-one discussions with the Christian Scientists at an otherwise secular World's Fair. He also describes the fantastic religious experience that he had at the Vatican Pavilion and states that he had to take advantage of as much as possible because he could never get this many different experiences in one place ever again. He provides a description of the entryway to the Pietà , which displayed crèche's from all over the world and notes that this is a common theme in Christmas art in Rome today.
