Description: Suffolk Traction Company's streetcar system began operating on July 1, 1911. Its route served Sayville, Bayport, Blue Point, Holtsville and Patchogue. Everyone rode free on the first day of operation. Regular service started July 2, 1911, between The "Four Corners" of West Main Street and North Ocean Avenue in Patchogue and the Blue Point post office on Blue Point Avenue. The location of this photograph is variously identified in different sources as Patchogue and Blue Point.
