William A. Morgan Miscellaneous Documents Related To World War I

Identifier: aql:15845

Description: This collection consists of six letters addressed to his mother and written aboard the U.S.S. Leviathan. Some of them have the envelopes in which they were addressed attached. The letters from the ship were written while it was docked at Brest, France, or at sea and give some background on Red Cross work with which the ship crew was evidently engaged. Mention is made of wounded soldiers and what seems to be preparing them for their trip back to the United States. Also included is a small scrapbook containing about fifty photographs depicting scenes on board the Leviathan or scenes of Liverpool or Paris taken while on leave or on duty.
