Abstract: In mid 1982 another portion of Armbruster materials were removed from the vertical file. These are both handwritten and typewritten manuscripts and not all seem to be complete. Some which have numbered pages have some gaps between these numbers, while other manuscripts consist of only three or four pages and evidently are not complete.

Scope and Content Note

In mid 1982 another portion of Armbruster materials were removed from the vertical file. These are both handwritten and typewritten manuscripts and not all seem to be complete. Some which have numbered pages have some gaps between these numbers, while other manuscripts consist of only three or four pages and evidently are not complete. The size of the paper is either 8½x11”, 8x10¼”, or 8x13”. More specifically the following items are found.

Handwritten manuscript titled COLUMBIA HEIGHTS ca. 13 pages (does not appear to be complete)

Typewritten manuscript titled THE WALLABOUT ca. 44 pages

Typewritten manuscript titled NORTH BROOKLYN ca. 25 pages

Unidentified typewritten manuscript deals with Brooklyn ca. 66 pages

Unidentified typewritten manuscript apparently dealing with BEDFORD PARK ca. 4 pages

Typewritten manuscript titled WILLIAMSBURGH ca. 84 pages

Handwritten manuscript titled INCIDENTS RELATING TO BUSHWICK ca. 25 pages

Provenance

These photographs were donated to the Long Island Division (now the Archives at Queens Library) by an Armbruster family member.

Access Restrictions

Open for research without restrictions. Manuscripts are only available in the Archives at Queens Library, please call (718) 990-0770 for hours. Manuscript users will be required to complete the division's Manuscript Usage Form and deposit their photograph identification or Queens Borough Public Library card with a staff member. The identification will be returned to the user after she/he has returned the material. Manuscript users will deposit all their personal items behind the reference desk. Manuscript users must use the division's loose sheets of paper for note taking. To reiterate, no pen of any type is permitted. Paper and a pencil are available upon request. Manuscript users may be required to use special handling procedures depending on the conditions of the material.
