Historical/Biographical Note
Milton Storck lived at 87-72 114th street, Richmond Hill, and was a member of Richmond Hill High School and Richmond Hill Rifle Clubs from 1927 to1935. He was born on December 6, 1909 and died in July, 1972. He graduated from Richmond Hill High School. He was one of the charter members, president, captain, and one of the best shooters of the Richmond Hill Rifle Club. He wrote summaries of most of the matches for the local newspaper.
The Richmond Hill Rifle Club was charted by the National Rifle Association in 1930 with the beginning membership of eighteen. The Richmond Hill Rifle Club won its first match against SunRise Club in April 15, 1930. The Richmond Hill Rifle Club lost its first Pistol Match in 1930. The club used the Richmond Hill High School rifle range for practice. The club was successful and won many matches.

Scope and Content Note
Milton Storck Papers of The Richmond Hill Rifle Club Matches contain clippings, scorecards and scrapbooks of match results of the Richmond Hill Rifle Club as well as results of Richmond Hill High School and Jamaica High School Rifle Teams.
The series Clippings, (1 folder, 1936) contains newspaper articles about the Richmond Hill Rifle Club including group photographs, match results, and photographs of Janet Lewis, one of the winners.
The Scorecards (1 folder, 1935-1937) are organized by date, filled out by different people, though most were completed by Milton Storck.
The series Scrapbooks (5 book, 1927-1935) is divided into two sub series. The first sub series is the Richmond Hill High School Rifle Team (1 book 1927-1933). The scrapbook contains clippings and commentary of Richmond Hill High School and its main rival, Jamaica High School matches. The clippings in the beginning of the book are accompanied by Milton Storck’s commentary. The second sub series contains four scrapbooks on the Richmond Hill Rifle Club. The 1930-1931 Scrapbook contains clipping and commentary. The first page has the article describing the charter of the Richmond Hill Rifle Club. The remaining scrapbooks contain clipping and some commentary.

Open for research without restrictions. Manuscripts are only available in the Long Island Division, please call (718) 990-0770 for hours. Manuscript users will be required to complete the division's Manuscript Usage Form and deposit their photograph identification or Queens Borough Public Library card with a staff member. The identification will be returned to the user after she/he has returned the material. Manuscript users will deposit all their personal items behind the reference desk. Manuscript users must use the division's loose sheets of paper for note taking. To reiterate, no pen of any type is permitted. Paper and a pencil are available upon request. Manuscript users may be required to use special handling procedures depending on the conditions of the material.
