Terms of Use

Please read these terms of use ("Terms") carefully before accessing or participating in any online forum available at www.queenslibrary.org or other Queens Borough Public Library websites. By using and participating in these websites, you signify that you have read these terms and agree to be bound by and comply with them. If you do not agree to be bound by these terms, please do not use Queens Borough Public Library websites.

Permission To Use Materials

In consideration for your agreement to the terms and conditions contained here, Queens Borough Public Library grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the websites. User may download material from the websites only for User's personal, non-commercial use. User may not otherwise copy, reproduce, retransmit, distribute, publish, commercially exploit or otherwise transfer any material. The burden of determining that use of any information, software or any other content on the website is permissible rests with User.

Limitation of Use

You may use this website for legal purposes only. Queens Borough Public Library has the right to remove material from its websites, block access, or take other action with respect to the material in its sole discretion. You may not use Queens Borough Public Library computing resources or websites to disseminate unsolicited advertising or promotional material of any kind.

Contacting Queens Borough Public Library if your material should not be on the Queens Borough Public Library's Website

In order to make its collections available to the widest audience possible, Queens Borough Public Library has placed photographs of items from our collections online. In each instance, we have tried to make sure that we have secured all necessary rights. If you believe that we have made a mistake, please contact us so that we can correct the oversight.

In certain instances, the Library also puts photographs taken at Library events online.  While the Library is careful to put up notice of photography at all events, if you would like the Library to remove a photograph containing your image, please contact us.

It is our policy to respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act in an appropriate manner under such Act and other applicable intellectual property laws, including the removal or disabling or access to material claimed to be subject of infringing activity. Pursuant to 17 United States Code 512(c)(2) (Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998), the Queens Borough Public Library is the designated agent for notice of alleged copyright infringement appearing on any Queens Borough Public Library Website. To file a notice of infringement with us, you must fulfill the requirements specified in Title II of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act of 1998.
