Description: Langston Hughes, American Poet, speaking and reciting poetry before the press and the United Nations "Comite De Coordination" in Paris, France after Spending 4 Months in Spain and Observing the Battle of Teruel, Spain (Communists Vs Government of Spain Aided by Germany). January 11, 1938; Typed on back: Americans, Observers of battle for Teruel lecture in Paris before returning to U.S.; Langston Hughes, American poet and John Davis, national secretary of the National American Negro Conference spoke for the first time on their return from Teruel at a meeting of the "Comite de /ciirdubatuib" in Paris. Hughes spent four months in Spain and Davis is sailing soon fo rthe U.S. to enlist Negro aid for the Spanish Government. The photo shows: Langston Hughes speaking at the meeting in Paris.
