Description: This small collection (less than one cubic foot) consists of some of the working papers produced by Mr. Winans in the pursuit of his local history interests. Items are both in manuscript and typescript. Because of their varied nature, they will be described in detail below. It should be noted, nevertheless, that most items pertain to the history of the First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica. Though most items are undated, they were, no doubt written in the 1930s or 1940s the period when Winans probably did most of his writing (he retired from his Post Office position in the early 1930s.)
