Description: Queens native and amateur photographer, Bernie Gellman took this beautiful photo of Oakland Lake with its seasonal colors. Oakland Lake was originally designated Mill Pond. Its name was later changed to Oakland Lake in the 19th century because of many oak trees around the pond area.
