Description: I.S. 77 in Ridgewood - Looking NE along Centre St. from Cypress Ave. toward the school at Seneca Avenue - P.S. 77 (now I.S. 77). The closer building at right on corner is the Old Ridgewood Grove Sporting Club (aka Ridgewood Grove Sporting Club - which moved in 1921 to St. Nicholas Avenue at Palmetto Street and became the New Ridgewood Grove Arena). Ridgewood Grove, originally a German Picnic Park, opened in the 1870's, John H. Gerken Acquired the Grove in 1899 from Jacob Benner. A 1915 Map shows the site as a Dance Hall.
