Description: In the first part of this video Kim Osorio (former editor-in-chief of The Source) and Emil Kraig Wilbekin (former editor-in-chief of Vibe Magazine) speak with Elena Romero about fashion's role in hip hop magazines, illustrated using specific examples from their careers at their respective magazines. The Q and A discusses the goals of FIT's Fashion expo, how Romero and Way got into the field, issues of archiving and how panel participants got into archiving hip hop. They also discuss the current state of physical magazines and their ability to garner attention, the state of journalism in the social media era, and the difficulty of dressing certain artists being featured (such as their main example, Notorious B.I.G.) while working at magazines.
