Description: The residents of Port Washington persuaded the Long Island Rail Road to extend the terminus of the North Side branch (now the Port Washington branch) to their hometown, requiring the construction of the Manhasset Viaduct over the marshes at the southern end of Manhasset Bay. This is a view looking east over the marshes at the construction.
