Irene S. Devan Collection of Miscellaneous School Records and Other Miscellaneous Documents
Description: This collection consists of miscellaneous material gathered together by Mrs. Devan, and referring principally to herself and members of the immediate family. Even more specifically, this rather fragmentary collection (ca. 90 documents measuring less than of a cubic foot) consists in large measure of items reflecting on Mrs. Devan's and her sisters' early grammar school career. A few items (school attendance records maintained by her grammar school teacher) perhaps came into her possession because of the family's close association with the school. At any rate, Mrs. Devan and no doubt, her two sisters attended the school in question. Dated items fall into the range of the 1870s-1890s, and probably the undated ones are late l880s to early 1890s.
