George C. Morris Diaries
Identifier: aql:15840
Description: All of the original diaries (there are 29 volumes in one series, each covering one year - two other volumes are explained separately) are written in pencil and all notations are rather brief. All are written in typical published diary books containing calendar information, population of cities, and the like. Most entries are quite faded or smudged, and now all but impossible to read. Some indication of life in Sag Harbor and the vicinity area can be obtained by close scrutiny of the diaries. Period covered is 1870 through 1898 (a very few 1899 entries found in the latter). These diaries are all of small size, most tending towards the larger size.
