Mrs. B. W. Strockbine Collection of the Ammerman (Amerman, Amberman), Rose and Higbie Families of Jamaica, Flushing and Hempstead

Description: Consisting of about 60 documents, these refer principally to the Ammerman Family (sometimes spelled Amerman or Amberman) of Jamaica and Hempstead, and especially to John Ammerman. To a lesser extent, some documents are those of the Rose Family of Flushing, more specifically of Lewis Rose and of the Higbie Family of Jamaica, more specifically of Catherine Higbie. Perhaps a few documents pertaining to one or two other families are also intermingled. No doubt, marital relationships existed among the families.
