Identifier: aql:15951

Description: There are about 220 documents in this collection including one bound volume (a combination daybook and account book maintained by George Van Nuyse ca. 1827-1832-several pages have been torn out). The majority are dated 1828-1832 and the l840s and 1850s. Several go back to the 18th century and probably refer to a predecessor of George Van Brunt bearing the same name, while a few documents are dated as late as 1874. For the most part the documents consist of receipted bills. Also included, however, are real estate deeds, and several documents which are either wills or related items such as inventory of the goods of a deceased. Occasionally, the name Van Nuyse is spelled Van Nice. Documents have been arranged in a chronological order.
