Description: The Schlesingers describe how you could not go to CUNY unless you lived in city, and had to have a high grade point average. It was $18 for tuition, and you bought your own books. Mrs. Schlesinger remembers registering for classes at Queens College, which went according to alphabet, and since her name started with J, she was in the middle. Students had to run to each registration site to sign up for the classes that were most popular.
