Description: Mrs. Mary Ann Shaw, Principal of the Colored School at Flushing, 86 State Street. Her husband was John W. A. Shaw, Minister of the Flushing A. M. E. Church. In later in life she inherited a large amount of money and in her will left $1,000 to the Flushing Free Library (Now QBPL). Original Print, once Hung in the QBPL Flushing Branch.
