Description: Portrait Photo of Benjamin F. Everitt. Photo from the Jamaica Village Society Collection. Benjamin F. Everitt was born in Jamaica in 1848. The name Everitt is among the earliest on Long Island and among the first families of Queens County. In 1868, Everitt became a member of the office of the county clerk for 10 years. He then became manager of the family undertaking establishment. In 1883, Everitt was chosen coroner of Queens County and served until 1895.
