Description: Monsignor John McGuirl discusses the changes in the population of Forest Hills, which was predominantly German when he was growing up. In the late 1950s into the early 1960s, the neighborhood saw a bit of a demographic shift as many Italian Americans moved in, as well as a number of Filipino families, Asian families, some Hispanic families, some newer Irish families, and Polish families. He appreciates the diversity that this has brought to the neighborhood.
