Description: Astoria is where the comedians live but it's not where they want to perform. Keith Alberstadt notes that the shows in Astoria are not stellar or off the charts, but it's a good time because of the camaraderie and the hang-out time with the other comedians. In the Manhattan clubs, you can't talk because it's such a confined space and the noise is too much. Jesse Joyce reasons that Astoria shows may not be great because of the ethnic diversity. The Bangladeshi couple next door or the Sudanese people nearby likely won't attend shows. Brooklyn is so hip and homogenous that shows there make more sense, whereas in Astoria, they are not altogether that logical.
