Description: Halim discusses his experience of opening a restaurant on 30th Ave, from when he first came to NYC in 1989. He enjoys living there because "you don't feel like an immigrant...It's just home." In the early 1990s, 30th avenue started going a bit down and then eventually went up again. Now you see a lot of young people from Manhattan moving in. Halim also talks about his family store back in Algeria and credits his experience there to his tough skin while working in NYC.
