Description: According to Rahim, the police have statistics that show Astoria is much better now. As Muslims have moved into the neighborhood, there has been less burglary and it's become safer. He's not sure if he'll stay in Astoria, as he's lived in many different places in his life. To him, it's all the same people and same way of life wherever you go. How people behave in an area is what makes it good. In Astoria, the real estate is cheaper and in Manhattan it is expensive. That's the only difference.Akim adds that Astoria used to be cheap, but not any more. Since the crisis, people can't afford the rent in Manhattan, so they move over to Astoria and the rent also gets higher there. He's been in three different places in the last 22 years in Astoria.
