Description: Mrs. McDonald's husband had to start working when he was 14 years old due to his father's untimely death. Before having to drop out, he had attended St. Francis on a scholarship. His first job was in a bank where he rose from page boy to vice president by the end of his career. After they were married and had two children, Mr. McDonald started night school. He finished school after a decade of sacrifice and hard work on his part and Gertrude's.
