Description: The New York World's Fairs in Flushing were actually not official World's Fairs. According to Mr. Hourahan, Robert Moses put on the 1939 New York World's Fair as a promotional event to raise money for his parks projects. It did not make money, and went bankrupt in its second year. The 1964 New York World's Fair was also a financial disaster.
