Description: Annalou Christensen describes how only one family houses were permitted to be built in the area. Once the restrictions were lifted in the 1930s, the area was developed and apartment buildings were built. The Waldheim neighborhood used to consist of mainly summer homes of the wealthy, and it was unusual that the Christensen family lived there year round. Well known residents included the illustrator of Buster Brown and A. Douglas Nash, the inventor of the Tiffany glass formula.
