Description: August C. Siebeneichen (1857-1927), proprietor of the Meadow Camp boathouse located on Hook Creek in Jamaica Bay. August C. Siebeneichen is seen standing behind his daughter Louisa (1880-1968), and grandson August P. Shearer (1911-1979). Louisa was the mother to August P. Shearer and wife to Thomas H. Shearer (1886-1931). This home and neighborhood was removed to build Idlewild Airport, now known as JFK International Airport. August was an engraver, chaser, and diamond setter, and was awarded a 50th anniversary year silver trophy from Tiffany & Co. on March 10th 1925. He passed away two years later. He worked on the crown jewels that were destroyed by fire in the World's Fair. August P. Shearer is the grandfather to the collector, Pamela Griffin Hansen.
