Description: Ms. Smith's mother left her and her younger siblings when Ms. Smith was eleven years old. Her mother never told Veronica why she left and she and her siblings were taken to live with their grandmother. She describes how all of those hard times helped her to be independent, and transmit to everybody the idea that every goal is reachable regardless of all the obstacles and limits that we can face.
