Description: Rose Kozani recalls trying out for the Billy Rose's Aquacade team when she was a Jamaica, Queens high school student, entering the 1939 World's Fairgrounds with friends through a hole in the back fence; the Fair's Lucky Strike Pavilion and General Motors exhibit; and how the Fair shaped her perceptions of foreign countries and traditions. Transcript from oral histories conducted under the direction of Warren Susman in conjunction with the "Dawn of A New Day" exhibition at the Queens Museum of Art in 1980. Some transcripts may be incomplete or may not follow the interview verbatim.
