Description: Remsen House - on east side of Old Trotting Course Lane (Woodhaven Blvd.), about a block north of Metropolitan Ave. Abraham Remsen settled here circa 1700, he died in 1752. Jeromus Remsen Sr. bought his father’s farm in 1735, and died here in 1781; his son Col. Jeromus Remsen (1735-1790) also lived here. It was the Weeden Homestead circa 1835-1860s, then the Kinsey family and related Leibrock family lived here. Newman, a builder, tore down the house in 1925.
